Naming places

I am slowly beginning to write again after several years. I have tons of plots and characters running around in my head. However, I have the hardest time naming places (towns, rivers, worlds, etc...). Does anyone have a method of coming up with names of places? I currently write fantasy and children's books, if that makes any difference. Help, I am so frustrated!

    Hi, I use a bit of Excel technology (the random & lookup function)

    First 3 letters from a list of real countries
    1 consonant
    1 vowel
    last 3 letters from the same list of countries

    Ok it's always 8 letters but it's a start.
    Sample: Indmerra, Palmurra, Newwilia, Egynuria, Slorenia (mmm....quite like Egynuria)
