So, I don't consider her anything more than "trash reading, " but I love her all the same and was wondering if anyone else was as addicted as I am. I just picked up Incubus Dreams, the latest (no, its not out yet--working at a bookstore rocks!!), and was craving a chat....

Also, if anyone lives in the Bay Area, Laurell K. Hamilton will be swinging through to sign books...I'll post the date when I get it.

I was introduced to her by my mom, who loves all her books. I agree that they are "trash reading" but I like them and they are such a quick, fun read they are hard to pass up.

Ooooh, its so much more sexual than her others! Hamilton is truly meandering in the housewife-porn/romance direction. I got to the point that I couldn't read it at work--I either couldn't keep a straight face durring a sex scene, or didn't want to put it down when my break ended. Tsk.

In other news, Laurell will be at the Jack London Square Barnes and Noble on Monday, October 11 at 7:30. Anyone who is interested, feel free to stop by...her limit per person is generally 3 books.

I don't think Anita Blake is "Trash" reading. Yes it has many moments of very sexual scenes but her character development is really great. Yes, Anita Blake is kind of like a super hero but it is all explained and how Anita gets more emotionally jaded is really right on with how I would imagine a real person would be with her experiences. Any links about more signings? I'm in the North Bay and would lot to meet Hamilton.

Well, I've always considered something where I don't take any knowledge away from it trash reads (or fun reads, whatever..). As for other events, unfortunately there aren't anymore up here--I believe she was at Cody's in SF last night, and then she treks down to Southern CA for an event tomorrow and Wednesday, I believe.

The good news is that she really likes to talk to her fans, so even if you couldn't make it at the begining, she will most likely be there until closing or close to--my guess is she will be there until at least 9, likely longer (judging from her event a few years ago). I know its probably a long drive for ya, but she is really quite cool, and worth a meet. She will sign 3 books (pernalized, the other 2 autographed) per person--we've got a ton of mass markets at the store, plus copious quantities of her new one in hard cover. Maybe I'll see ya there!

I just started this series a few weeks ago and am now just starting Lunatic Cafe. I don't much care for Anita, she kind of annoys me, but the Villains are too good to pass up! I heard the plot thickens down the series a few books, so I'll hang in there.
I've read the Meredith Gentry series too, which is definitely trash reading but oh so much fun. Im just a sucker for sexy men with superpowers! The last book was fairly disappointing so I'm hoping Stroke of Midnight makes up for it.

I started reading the first Novel in the series a little while back....so far I am a little underwhelmed by it...then again I am reading 3 other books at the same time too.
I plan to keep an open mind and read the other books in the series as well...I have been told that the other novels are pretty entertaining :)
