Since no one has posted it: Robert Jordan died Monday Sept. 17.

His last book will be published eventually. The publisher has enough of it to put it together.

So who else here has been reading his WOT series for the last 17 years?

I was greatly saddened to hear that Jordan is gone. I have greatly enjoyed all the WOT books (even though the wait for new ones was painful at times.. it was worth it)... we have lost a true fantasy master.

i only came to this series a few years ago. so i have had no waiting, just books there to read as i like. it was a fine recommendation from a friend. i am relieved to hear that book twelve will be published. no ending would be dreadful.
the man was a fantastic story teller. to have been able to share in his world, feel for his creations, is an honour and a privilage.

I know I'm going to probably antagonize myself for saying it, but I didn't really like the way he wrote. I really like the story, for sure. It's been a great ride, but the seat wasn't very comfortable. I also joined in the story after 10 books were written and I basically read them back to back. They may have something to do with how I feel about the writing - I had to sift through all the "reminders to readers who read the last book years ago" stuff while it was really fresh on my mind.
I am glad to see that the final book will be published and it is sad that a fantasy author died so recently. Kudos to all of you for enjoying his work so much.
